Don’t take too long answering this (I know you probably have laundry to do).   If you could describe yourself as an article of clothing, what would you be?  A mink stole?  A cashmere sweater?  A silk blouse? (see previous blog).  Maybe some days you feel more like a worn-out t-shirt or a pair of dead socks.

While sorting clothes for laundering (yes, I actually do… sort of), I found this tag on the inside of a sweatshirt: “Designed and manufactured to withstand the tribulations of everyday wear.”  (It really did say it—I didn’t make it up just so I’d have something to write about).  The word tribulations popped out at me—more of a Bible word (hence this blog) than something found on dirty clothes.

How comforting to remember that, as the Lord’s children, we have His promises (2 Cor.4:16-18; 1Cor. 10:13 — there are more, too!) to help us keep on and endure the daily bleach applications, spin cycles, and wearing out of daily life.

I think I might be a taffeta dress.
