Not to worry—I’m not morphing into a mitochondriac, just helping my youngest (and most brilliant-- she wanted me to add) daughter with her science. 

Remember studying about the mitochondria, those little funny-shaped things in our body’s cells?  Did you know that the mitochondria are not the main source of energy for your body’s cells (please tell me you care, because I’m not finished)?  It’s not the ATP (I know that you already knew that), the glucose, or the starch.  (Here’s where you ask, “Well then, Marilyn, pray tell what is?).

I’m glad you asked.  It’s the sun allows our cells to live and receive energy.  Just like God’s Son is necessary for us to live spiritually through accepting Him as our Savior.
