A friend was looking ahead to major surgery. Her husband’s out-of-town job had taken him away for several weeks, and having her date bumped up before he returned was a strong possibility. The call came with the final date—it was scheduled for five days after his return. She said, “I know it sounds selfish, but it’s comforting to know that, even in the middle of the cosmic turmoil of world unrest and famine, the Lord cares about timing my surgery so that my husband could be there.”
